CLAIRIERE de L'ARMISTICE is a clearing in the woods where the Amistice was signed
in 1918 after Germany capitulated to Marshal Foch, and again in 1940 when France capitulated to Hitler, both in the same
railroad car. A replica of the car is in a museum there.
COLMAR (photos) is in Alsace-Lorraine, an area which has been
claimed in the past by both Germany and France. As a result its architecture is a mixture. It has a wonderful museum
and an ancient church.
